ABOUT US

Parrotmania is a small business that brings an array of parrots to you. We do birthday parties, care homes, schools, and other similar events! We offer photos with the parrots, information sessions, and parrot-themed craft sessions. We serve the Okanagan region!

Did You Know...

In North America, parrots are the 3rd most popular pet after cats and dogs!

Unlike cats and dogs, however, parrots are not domesticated and are still wild animals.

My Goal:

To improve the quality of life of animals by educating the next generation of owners. I have a passion for creating a world where parrots are no longer misunderstood, mishandled, or abandoned for expressing their natural, instinctual behaviours.

Founder and Owner - Yurle Angel

Parrot Enthusiast

My name is Yurle Angel, and I grew up in Colombia, South America. Since childhood, I have been passionate about parrots, and they have always been a part of my life. With a background in International Tourism and Recreation, I currently work in the recreation department of a long-term care facility. Through Parrotmania, I aim to share knowledge and fun and raise awareness about the significant commitment required to care for a parrot as a pet.

  • Are you insured?
Yes, Parrotmania is fully insured with a liability policy.
  • What will we learn?
Audiences will have a better understanding of parrots by the end of the presentation. They will learn about: Different Types of Parrots Where Parrots Live in the Wild What Makes Parrots Different from Other Birds: Their Powerful & Specialized Beaks Why They Don’t Make Good Pets How Long Parrots May Live
  • What should I do to prepare for Parrotmania?
The only things I require are space (8’ x 8’ min.) to do the presentation and a safe environment for the birds! Another thing that is helpful, but not required, is parking spots near the performance site.
  • Is there any danger of contracting bird flu from the parrots?
NO! My birds are all domestically raised and never brought around poultry. If you have more questions simply research "avian flu”.
  • Can the presentation be done in the public areas?
Generally not. There is potential for distractions and dangers in public areas (i.e., unleashed dogs).
  • How do I book a presentation?
Email us to schedule your event. We will ask for some details about the presentation, including the location, time, and date. To secure your date with Parrotmania, we require an E-transfer deposit (amount depends on package). Please note that deposits are non-refundable for cancellations, but will be applied to the rescheduled date.
  • Can we pet the birds?
Unfortunately not. My parrots love people, however, petting parrots, if not done correctly, can be harmful to the birds. Guests are more than welcome to hold a parrot on their shoulder or with the provided special holder.
